We are excited to share new leadership updates in Spartanburg School District Three for the 2024-2025 school year!
Allison Berry has been promoted from Principal of Pacolet Elementary School to Director of Elementary and Middle Education. She made a significant impact on her students as Principal at Pacolet Elementary School. This year, Pacolet Elementary received an Excellent Rating on its most recent South Carolina Report Card from the South Carolina Department of Education. We are excited to welcome her to the Spartanburg School District Three District Office.
Cathy Garner has been named Principal of Pacolet Elementary School. Mrs. Garner has served as principal at Carlisle-Foster’s Grove Elementary for the past 14 years. Throughout her career, she has served in various capacities including teacher, assistant principal, and principal. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Special and Elementary Education from Winthrop University, and a Master’s degree in Administration/Supervision from Converse University.
“It is with great honor and privilege to step into the role of Principal at Pacolet Elementary School within Spartanburg District Three. My priority is to help provide our staff with support and students with the BEST education in an effective learning environment. My mission is to empower all students to thrive as successful members of our community and instill in them a lifelong love for learning,” said Garner. “I extend my sincerest gratitude to Dr. Fowler and our esteemed Board of Trustees for entrusting me with the opportunity to serve the wonderful school and community of Pacolet Elementary. I am deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of excellence while fostering a culture of inclusivity and support.”
Rodney Graves, principal of Broome High School, has been promoted to Director of Employee and Community Relations within the Lancaster County School District. Under his leadership, Broome High School achieved its highest graduation rate in school history, increasing from 78% in 2017 to more than 91% in 2023. We thank Mr. Graves for his service to Spartanburg School District Three and wish him the best in his new role.
Josh Fowler will serve as the new Principal of Broome High School.
Mr. Fowler began his educational career in Spartanburg School District One in 2007 as a social studies teacher, teaching AP Economics, and serving as a coach at Chapman High School. In 2010, Mr. Fowler joined the staff at Landrum High School. In 2017, he was selected as the Spartanburg One District Teacher of the Year. In 2018, Mr. Fowler began his administrative career as an assistant principal at Landrum High School where he currently serves. Mr. Fowler holds a Bachelor’s in Secondary Social Studies, a Master’s in Technology in Education, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership.
Heath Roberts is retiring from his role as Director of Daniel Morgan Technology Center. He looks forward to working with a family member in career fields he supervised as an administrator at Daniel Morgan and taught as a teacher. We thank him for his service to our district and wish him the best in his next chapter.
Nikki Honeycutt has been named Director of Daniel Morgan Technology Center.
Mrs. Honeycutt’s reputation as an educator is underscored by her certification as an AP teacher and with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, which recognizes her expertise and commitment to teaching excellence. Most recently, she was recognized as the Palmetto State Literacy Association's Distinguished Teacher of Literacy for Spartanburg County. Mrs. Honeycutt has an extensive background in the education sector, with over 25 years of experience. She has worked as a classroom teacher and mentor and served as an assistant principal for 10 years at both the middle and high school levels. While serving as a high school administrator in a comprehensive high school, Mrs. Honeycutt was responsible for Career and Technical Education and brings this experience with her to Daniel Morgan.
Mrs. Honeycutt is excited to collaborate with her colleagues at Daniel Morgan Technology Center to assist students in achieving their academic goals. She looks forward to working together to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment that fosters growth and success.
Lana Greene will serve as Assistant Director of Daniel Morgan Technology Center.
Mrs. Greene is a product of Spartanburg School District Three, graduating from Broome High School in 1993.
She has 25 years of experience in the field of education, having worked in Spartanburg County School Districts Two, Three, and Seven. In 2015-2016 she served as the Spartanburg School District Three Teacher of the Year.
Since 2012 Mrs. Greene has been teaching at Broome High School currently serving as the Social Studies Department Chair, teaching AP United States and AP European History and the 11th grade AVID elective class. She also works with the Work-Based Learning students in grades 11 and 12.
Mrs. Greene’s primary focus in her work at the secondary level has been college and career readiness. She believes that building relational capacity among students and staff is essential in the educational process to foster a caring and trusting environment where students can achieve their maximum potential.
Each of these leaders brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to their new roles and we are proud to see the positive impacts they will have on our students.
