I graduated from Boiling Springs High in 1996 and went to USC – Spartanburg from 1996 – 2004, while working full time at Inman Mills Corporate Office. I went on to earn my master’s degree in Gifted & Talented Ed. From Converse, and then earned National Board Certification in 2013. Later, I earned an Education Specialist Degree in Literacy from Converse in 2021 and recertified National Boards.

I have taught all grades from 2nd through 6th during my career. I have taught at Polk Central Elementary in NC, Houston Elementary and E. P. Todd, in District 7, and served as Interventionist & Literacy Coach for 5 years at E P Todd.

I moved to District 3 in 2018 and taught 2nd grade at Clifdale Elementary, moved to Cannons Elementary, teaching 2nd grade for 3 years and then rose to 4th grade. This is my 3rd year teaching 4th grade, and I love it!

I love the independence, confidence, and inquisitive nature of students at this age. I love teaching at Cannons! It is truly the best of the best!

I have been married to my husband, James, for 26 years, and have two children, ages 17 and 16. We live in Pauline, and have a small farm, where we raise goats, chickens, and do lots of gardening. I enjoy baking, crafting, reading, and spending time outdoors camping, kayaking, or just reading.
