We are proud to share that Spartanburg School District Three and Spartanburg School District Seven, in partnership with Spartanburg Academic Movement and multiple nonprofit partners are the recipients of a $15 million federal grant aimed at increasing educational access!
The grant, announced Friday morning at Pacolet Elementary School, will be used in Clifdale Middle School, Pacolet Elementary and Cowpens Elementary School.
Pacolet Elementary and Cowpens Elementary will each be able to add 2 3K classes, which means an additional 60 students in our district will have the opportunity to attend 3K classes for free!
The grant also includes mental health services and access to high-quality afterschool summer learning and enrichment programs – all crucial for accelerating student academic success and advancing their future economic mobility.
"We would like to thank Dr. Booker, the team at Spartanburg Academic Movement, and our local school district and agency partners for collaborating to bring this significant investment to our community. From expanded educational opportunities to mental health support, the Full-Service Community Schools Grant will help us ensure our students have the resources they need to excel academically and build bright futures." – said Dr. Julie Fowler, Superintendent of Spartanburg School District Three.
This is truly an exciting opportunity for students in our district. We look forward to continuing to provide the best possible education for our students!
