Read Across America Week is coming up March 4th-8th. Literacy Night will be Tuesday, March 5th from 5:30-7:30. The Book Fair will be open all week. Please see the attached flyers for additional information including daily dress up activities to celebrate reading!
Third grade students enjoyed a field trip to Conestee Nature Preserve. It was a beautiful day of learning outdoors!

Pacolet Elementary School had several students perform with the South Carolina Elementary State Honor Choir in Columbia today. Way to represent PES! We are so proud of you.
Students in the CDC, 3K, and 4K classes participated in a Dinosaur Discovery today sponsored by the Children’s Museum of the Upstate. Students made fossils and actually made a volcano erupt. They also experienced many other activities that made them roar with excitement!
3K had an interactive visit from The Children’s Museum of the Upstate. Look at all the fun and learning in the classroom!

Hip hip hooray! It's the 100th day! 4K friends had a blast celebrating at school today!
Happy 100th day of school! Mrs. Camby and Mrs. Jolly's 5K class enjoyed celebrating 100 days of learning!
Mrs. Downey's 4th grade ELA classes celebrated reading with "Starbooks". Students researched nonfiction social studies topics, created magazines, and then shared with each other. Students enjoyed warm hot chocolate from the "Starbooks Cafe". Reading is fun!
Ms. Berry is meeting with students to discuss their goals and congratulating them for meeting their goals.
Spartanburg School District Three is accepting nominations from students in grades 3-5 for both Music and Art Atlas. Your child may pick-up a nomination packet from the music teacher, art teacher or the school office between January 22 and 26, 2024. Each student is allowed one self-nomination, one parent/family nomination, a classroom teacher (not music or art teacher) or school administrator nomination and one other nomination (friends, music or art teacher from another school, etc.) All completed nominations must be returned to the school office by 3:00 PM on February 5, 2024.
5th graders are working on a mini research to learn more about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
5K and 1st grade students are listening to read alouds about Martin Luther King Jr. and learning how he worked to make the world a better place. Then students brainstormed ways they can make the world better! Some ideas were being kind, sharing, and helping others.
Mrs. Farley's 3K class listened to a snowman read aloud and colored a snowman after their story. S is for snowman! ⛄️
In honor of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day today, we would like to recognize our amazing School Resource Officer, Deputy Amanda Cogdill. She works every day to build relationships with students and create a positive school environment. She is thoughtful, friendly, sociable, and outgoing. We are so fortunate to have her at PES!
