The Benjamin E. Mays Family Center was incorporated in March of 2022 and received tax-exempt status in September of 2022. It operates out of the former Middle School of Pacolet building. Early leadership and financial support was offered by the Benjamin E. Mays Alumni Association, the Mary Black Foundation, the Spartanburg County Foundation, and Vulcan, Inc.

Services are expected to be offered through key partners with expertise in each area, such as SC Works, ReGenesis Health Care, Hope Center for Children, and First Steps of Spartanburg.

While the center is not sponsored by or affiliated with Spartanburg School District Three, it does offer resources and services for residents in District Three. You can find updates and information about some of these resources below.
