The district's special education programs are intended to serve children with various disabilities which prevent their educational progress in typical classroom situations.
The philosophy of the district is that students with exceptional educational needs should be served in regular classrooms whenever possible. To this extent, special education is viewed as an integral part of the general education program offered to all students.
Every child has a right to a high quality educational program in which he/she can experience success. If a child has a disabling condition, this success may be contingent upon an adjustment of the techniques and materials of instruction to meet his/her individual needs.
The district will conduct special programs in accordance with the provisions of the law and state regulations.
