Spartanburg School District Three has named Taggart Houck as Public
Information Officer (PIO)/Coordinator of Communications.
Taggart previously worked at WYFF 4, where he served as a reporter beginning June 2019. He
was awarded a regional Emmy and has played a large role in the station’s political coverage,
interviewing presidential hopefuls as well as candidates for federal, state and local office. He
also covered local government and economic development.
Prior to that, he served for two years as a general assignment reporter at WPDE-TV in Myrtle
Beach, South Carolina. He covered breaking news and severe weather, including Hurricane
Florence.
He looks forward to sharing the story of Spartanburg School District Three, along with keeping
the District Three community informed. He is excited to highlight the many accomplishments of
students, faculty and staff.
A resident of Spartanburg County, he and his wife, MaryBrooks, enjoy spending time with family
and friends. They have two Boykin Spaniels, River and Tripp.
He officially begins his new role Friday, August 18th
